Couples counselling, provides space for couples to discuss their issues and find solutions to problems within their relationship.
Relationships are an essential part of our lives and modern life and the demands of the workplace or family life can take it toll on even the strongest partnership.
All couples face challenges and how we deal with these challenges is vital if we want to maintain healthy communication, resolve conflict that might have arisen and encourage intimacy.
Every couple is different and I can help you to recognise and understand the communication, behavioural, sexual and emotional dynamics that might exist between you and your partner gets to grips with how you and your partner relate to each other.
I have experience working with both straight and gay couples, couples in long and shorter-term relationships and couples in monogamous and non-monogamous relationships. As with individual therapy, your first appointment will provide an opportunity for you and your partner to discuss any issues within your relationship, identify any shared goals and begin a dialogue of open communication.
Couples therapists remain neutral — I don’t take sides and I help couples by identifying and assessing behavioural patterns in their relationship and through encouraging fair, balanced communication between both partners. I understand that issues within relationships are often very private and personal. I so I do not judge yours personal choices or sexual experiences. All discussions in couples counselling are handled sensitively and, of course, discussions with me are always confidential.
Develop new skills around communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy that will serve you for a lifetime. I work with family members, co-workers, best friends, and anyone else looking to seek major growth in relationship.
Call me for an initial chat and we can discuss your needs from there.
Couple sessions are usually an hour and a half.
