Having completed my training and gained an advanced diploma on a course affiliated by the National Counselling Society (NCS), I practice within the ethical framework as set out by them, always seeking to provide the very best in ethical safety and structured working for my clients.

I am also a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

I believe that our home life and our work life are core to our sense of well being and when these environments contain difficulties or conflict it can prove completely debilitating and hugely detrimental to our peace of mind.

As both my starting point and my passion has been to work with relationships I have undergone comprehensive training in Couples Counselling and Phsychosexual Therapy which means that I can work with one or both parties who are looking for some support.

I learned a long time ago that life can feel both challenging and difficult and when I was trying to hold down a job, run a home, and keep a marriage of many years strong and healthy whilst raising children it was an uphill struggle to say the least.

To be confident that I can provide the very best counselling for my clients I ensured that the modality of all my training was in ‘Integrative’ approach' and this means that I can use the very best of many differing theories to best support my clients in my work with them and I constantly strive to keep abreast of the latest in thinking when it comes to all aspects of mental health.

I recently  completed a year working in primary care within a GP surgery and this proved a rewarding and valuable experience for me as I came into contact with so many areas of concern for my clients that included loss, bereavement, depression, anxiety, infertility and relationship issues and and I was able to tailor my therapy to what was most appropriate for each of them.

When I am not working I can usually be found walking my puppy by the sea :)

Since March 2018 I have been a volunteer counsellor for CFG (Children & Families in Grief). This extraordinary charity supports children and families though home visits after the loss of a loved one and I am privileged to play a small role in supporting them through the unthinkable and find a way to move forward, communicate and grow together.
